UKS Oscars cybercrop

Took part in my first cybercrop at the weekend and a lot of fun. Managed two classes and a challenge.

This is my favourite class By Claire Wheatley (Weetabix) is was teaching you how to stamp onto acetate, well as everyone knows I love acetate and use it loads but had never thought to stamp a background onto it and cut out petal shapes. Fantastic class!

AND my LO of "our family" has been chosen to represent the Blue Brads in the monthly challenge. Talk about chuffed. Voting starts today I think, so fingers crossed I get some votes. No chance of winning as the competion from the other three houses is very very strong but just getting picked to represent my house has made my day/week/month LOL.

Secret stash strokers sketch challenge

A quick Lo I've done for our team challenge, so lovely to see how we all come up with such different LO's from the same sketch. Photo is of Ben taken last summer helping his Great Grandad out in the garden. I bought the paper on Saturday and then Sunday happened to spy this photo on Dad's digital frame and eureka a perfect match. Doesn't happen often but when it does woohoo!!!

Can't beleive people have actually voted for my "our family" LO in the UKS Monthly challenge. really chuffed! Really not expecting to get chosen to represent the blue brads house but at least people liked it enough to vote. Could have been very embarrassing LOL.

Had a steroid injection in my knee yesterday so it's a tad sore today but worth it if it helps, fingers crossed.

Eric is on the mend and we're all looking forward to my brother and family arriving on Tuesday. Next week is going to be mad with so many celebrations all in one week.

and here's another one I did at crop on Saturday

Photo is of the hounds having eaten their own food trying to hustle Rulu into leaving some leftovers for them.... NO CHANCE!!!

UKS Weekly challenge

This Lo was made to do the weekly challenge on UKS set this week by The Lavender lovelies. This is the challenge
fairytale / fantasy / or childrens book title theme YES
April Fools element - something not as it seems or hidden etc YES
To celebrate Wrigleys company starting on 1st April 1891 - use wavy lines on your layout YES
Spring colours (do not have to be pastel) YES
Use a clock or time on your layout YES

Underneath the photo there is some hidden journalling which explains why it was such a big deal for me to look after Ben all by myself...

Eric has finished the antiviral pills and still no rash, looks like (touching wood) they have worked.

Off to crop tomorrow yippeee..... shame the weather is set to change as it's been glorious here, all the hounds have been outside sunbathing.

Have a good weekend

Woe is us!

Eric has really bad shingles down one side of his face and is really poorly, Dad had his op with no problems but now has a nasty infection in his hand and Ben was pushed over at book club today and has had to have his bridge of his nose glued! Feels like we're living under a black cloud at the moment....

BUT

today is the first of April so I can finally say my brother and family will be home this MONTH for the big party woohooo!!!

Secret stash strokers sketch challenge
I've done this LO for the team I'm in on UKS sketch challenge, really enjoyed working with the sketch and got round to scanning and using some old photo's of little Rocky on the first day I got him back in 1995. Rocky was such a character, completely unsociable and fearless! he ruled the greyhounds with terror and is so missed by us all after he went to the bridge in July 2006.

I've used both sides of a sheet of Rusty Pickle paper and hand cut the photo frames and swirl.
