Brain missing in action

I seem to have a itsy bitsy little problem with my brain going AWOL!!!!!

Yesterday i was scrapping with Dawn as per usual on a Thursday and had spent some time making a fancy border wrapping ribbon neatly round it etc and then glued it on the right side and couldn't figure out why it was sticking to me and not my page d'oh !!!! and that's not the only incident this week. Wednesday i said to Eric you didn't win the lottery, only for him to text me later in the day to say Sue the lottery is tonight oh dear oh dear.

Progress on the conservatory base is going well and Eric is now filling it up with the first layer of hardcore, 2nd layer today then sand then foam sheets and finally concrete or something like that LOl.

Sandy hasn't had a great few days, the lump has grown and is making the mechanics of walking with that leg difficult. She is still extremely interested in food and walks and still looks great. Eric has been doing some research and come across a new drug, our vets don't use it so we're trying to find out more information. Apparently it has to be used with a special diet regime so I'm going to make some phone calls today.

I decided to do the UKS weekly challenge which was to use a LOVE theme, use pearls and something recycled. I was a bit stumped as I didn't have any pearls left but found some on an old birthday card and carefully lifted them off.

After he had finished he said never again! but by the following day had decided to do it again next year. Souns like child birth LOL.

Have made loads of cards this week, mainly for forth coming birthdays so can't show but this one is a just in case.



Right off to do some baking, have to keep Mr T's energy levels up !!!!

Fab weekend

Dawn and I set off at 10am and stopped off for lunch on the broads watching the boats and ducks and then carried on to the caravan site. By 12.45pm we had unpacked made the beds and were ready to start scrapping LOL. Weather was incredibly windy with lots of rain but the sun did come out in between the heavy rain showers. Not that it made any difference to us as we just scrapped, chilled and munched.

I managed 5 layouts and Dawn did 7! Back home yesterday only to be met by a very mediocre reception from the hounds, think the chickens were more pleased to see me LOL definitely sulky hounds LOL. Boy am I going to be in trouble when I disappear again tomorrow.

This was the first LO of the weekend, pp from Crate papers and photo's are of Ben riding his quad bike a few weeks ago.



Then I spent hours sewing on this layout of Ranger, need to adjust a bit of the journalling which was done in haste and doesn't read quite right but it tells of his arrival here. PP from Bo Bunny.



I love this layout, the photo just seems to sum up the close bond between Eric and Ben, papers are scraps left over from a previous LO and are from Scenic Route.



And finally a class kit from Otley crop by Lesley with a few touches of my own. Papers are Basic Grey Marakech and the photo's well obvious really our first eggs from the girlies LOL.



Now I have to get sorted for hospital tomorrow! Hoping for day surgery but have been told to take a bag! anyway six weeks of being in plaster sounds fun right!

This year the Playtex Moonwalk took place in London on 16th May.
The Moonwalk, is one of a number of charity fundraisers which raises lots of money for breast cancer research. (see www.walkthewalk.org for more info). We are basing our challenge around this event.

FIVE

Yesterday the 4 hens produced five eggs, outstanding effort girlies!

The team I'm in on UKS is setting the weekly challenge on the 18th May and as I'm away I'll share the layout with you now. I won't spoil it by giving away the challenge elements though LOL.



Photo is of Vikki wearing this years new flyflots, every other year I treat her to a new pair and she them wears them constantly until it's too cold LOL. Paper is from Making memories and the flowers were cut out of a sheet from Sandylion.

Just finished potting up the pots and hanging baskets, a bit earlier than usual for me but needed to get it done as away at the weekend back Tuesday and into hospital Thursday so trying to clear lts of things I kno I won't feel like doing after the op.

What a difference a week makes, the girls are now much more relaxed and run towards us when we go it to feed them. Their combs have started to darken in colour and there is signs of new feathers growing. We have been giving them a tonic in their food and will worm them this weekend. I love watching them but getting them to bed is an issue like No we're not going LOL as fast as I catch one and pop her in the hut turn round for the next the first has come back out again EXCEPT last night when it was raining and they took themselves in CLEVER girlies! AND have been digging the ground and eating grubs. Amazing how they start to adapt. Two eggs everyday !!! and they're getting bigger.




Dawn has asked me to announce the arrival of Grandson number two, Ollie born Saturday weighing 7lbs 9ozs and totally gorgeous, I've already had cuddles with him and Dawn is floating around on cloud 9.

The photo is of Marc taken in 1990 when he was 12, have used Basic Grey papers Archaic, BG buttons,title cut on Cricut, lots of sewing and the grid was made on PC and printed onto acetate.

Good news

Both Sandy and Jim have been to the vets and after a couple of weeks of sheer terror the vet is confident Sandy's lump is arthritic and not the bone cancer we had feared. Having lost both Dill and Mac to the bone cancer we are only to aware that once the lump appears there is really nothing that can be done and we were fearing the worst although Jim who seems to smell the cancer never once sniffed her lump so that gave us a tiny bit of hope. Anyway Sandy is on meds and restricted exercise for 10 days along with Jim who the vet thinks has a trapped nerve in his back. Poor Jim is a bit spaced out as he's on painkillers and DIAZEPAM LOL.

Made these little flowers on Monday to send to a friend for her birthday. Cut the flowers on the cricut using coredinations card stock then embossed them with the cuttlebug and then sanded them down.

The photo is of Marc aged 1 in 1979, I had booked a photographer to come to the house, poor chap was tearing his hair out trying to get a smile from Marc, so after 90 minutes of me and Mum leaping around like loonies waving his toys we finally got this sort of smile LOL. Papers are from Daisy Bucket "under the boardwalk" American thickers for the title and the journal shape, apple and love were cut on the cricut, other bits made on the PC.



Ben made me smile this week, he came in with me to get my blood test and sat very quiet taking it all in, when we came out he gently touched my arm and said "Nanny I love you you're so clever" Vikki called him a creep LOL but it made me smile all day.

And this is what i came up with. I coloured washed the bazzill c/s with Blonde moments paint then stamped the flowers onto acetate cut them out and coloured them and glittered some. Lots of bling of course. Photo is of DH and DD getting out of the limo we surprised her with to take her to church on her wedding day.

Been busy taking part in first UKS cyber crop, really must clean up my scrap area now. Talk about a mess.
