Scrapping

Started this layout of Vikki at her 18th birthday party last week at crop but couldn't get the look or feel I was trying for so put it away. Had another bash at it yesterday when scrapping with Dawn and think I'm happy with it now.

Papers are from MME and bits and pieces cut on cricut, finished it off with some sewing and stamping.

Not much to report, been a quiet week hands still useless but Jim and the other dogs are all well and have been enjoying the warmer weather.

White space

Scrapped with Dawn as per usual today and did the other half of a dlo about Jim's 10th birthday.

I had an idea in my head of what I wanted but wasn't sure it would work for me as I'm not good at white space.

Anyway I used up the last of my scraps from Bo Bunny and am rather pleased with it!

Dogs are all well and enjoying the better weather.

Papermaze crop tomorrow so all good!

Scrapping

Yesterday was scrapping day and despite really not feeling upto it as my hands and feet are so sore I REALLY had a lovely day and forgot all my woes.

I even started and finished this layout completely from scratch from a few scraps.

I wanted to do this layout to record how we never dared to hope Jim after all his problems would still be with us and celebrating his 10th birthday. For once this layout just came together very easily, no faffing, no measuring or agonising it just happened and I love it.

Have to show you this photo of one very cheeky little girl. Our bedroom is off limits during the day to the hounds but I must have forgotten to secure the door and found this...

How Gangley managed to get under the cover without rucking it up is beyond me...

Crop

So Saturday's crop was the one we had all been waiting for. Carol had secretly arranged for some of the girls from crop to make pages for a book she wanted to put together to surprise Ang for her upcoming 40th.

Carol worked so hard arranging it all and managing to keep it a surprise for Ang. And boy was she surprised LOL. Some photo's here on Carol's blog. I have to say the book is absolutely beautiful with each page so different.

Here is my page

Karen made a fab chocolate birthday cake which Dawn and I didn't eat as we've given up chocolate for lent but thankfully she also made a yummy carrot cake and it was seriously yummy.

I even managed to start and finish a layout LOL.

photo is of Harvey blowing out the candle on his birthday cake I made for his 4th birthday with more than a little interest from Gangley. I used just one sheet of Scenic Route PP surprise.

Jim is off to the vets later for a check up following his corn op but has been very perky and happy all weekend.

Recipe Box

I have pieces of paper with recipes on stashed everywhere and countless cookery books so decided it would be a good idea to have all my favourites in the one place. Well it seemed like a good idea at the time LOL

I started off with this box which original had washing powder tablets in

Eric gave it a couple of coats of white paint for me and then I painted it with A Rangers dabber espresso and covered it with paper, then decorated it and finally a couple of coats of modge podge to seal it.

Now all I have to do it write out all the recipes GROAN .....

Jim is fully recovered from his little op and already putting more weight on his sore pad. His Aunty Shellie kindly sent him a birthday present and here he is trying to stay awake to open it LOL

of course he soon woke up properly when he realised it contained his favourite sweeties...

Happy Birthday Jim

Today the hug monster is 10 years old......

We celebrated last night with a birthday liver cake, as today Jim will spend his birthday at the vets having the blasted corn hulled.

No way did I ever dream or dare to hope that we would get to celebrate his 10th birthday after being diagnosed with the bone cancer in August. Despite having to amputate his leg in October he is still very well and happy...

Going in and trying to lick his cake LOL

and finally after loads of photo's finally getting a piece, of course the others helped his celebrate LOL.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY JIM BUBA WE LOVE YOU LOADS XXXXXXXX
