Scrapping

Scrapped with Dawn yesterday!!! and did this layout of Ben. He went for a walk with Eric and the dogs during half term and despite the foul weather had a lovely time splashing through huge puddles.

Papers are from 3 bugs in a rug "snips and snails"

Marc is on holiday on Safari in Kenya with Rachel and rang us Wednesday to say he had proposed and Rachel had accepted ahhh!!!! wedding September 2011.

Poor old Jim has to have the corn hulled on Tuesday which is his 10th birthday! so birthday celebrations will be on Monday. Ever since he had his amputation I've willed and prayed for him to make it to his birthday, everyday I've mentally ticked off another day. The vet said apart from it being a very bad corn he is in good health with no signs of the cancer coming back yet (which it will as amputation isn't a cure only a stay) but on Monday he is 19 weeks post op and the vet said that is the longest they personally have had a dog survive. Anyway he will be sedated for the op which they can reverse as soon as it's over rather than a GA...he was very funny at the vets and after being fussed by all the nursers tried to leg it back to the car LOL...so any good thoughts for brave Jim would be most welcome.

More snow

Woke up to rain as per usual and then horror the snow started and worse it laid. Will Winter never end.

I have collect the material I ordered for the soft furnishings in the conservatory, which makes Eric laugh as a) it's not finished and b) there is no furniture LOl.

Now just have to draw up the designs and take them to Mum to make for me!!!! I do feel after Eric heroic efforts to build the conservatory and porch I should attempt to do the sewing but I can only make a very basic cushion cover and Mum is so very good at it so she gets the job LOL... thanks Mum x

Lazy blogger

Over a week and no blogging oh dear! lots of excuses of course. Firstly I've been feeling under the weather and secondly I decided to sort out and re organise all my stash. What a pain that turned into, still it's done now and I was quite ruthless giving away lots of stuff from the early years LOL.

Last Saturday Carol ran a workshop a Papermaze to make a mini canvass using lots of different techniques. We had a fantastic day, I learnt loads and made this.

Carol's work is very inspirational and we're hoping further classes on using distress inks and alchol inks etc will follow.

Dawn and I scrapped Friday and then went to crop Saturday, so finally got to play after sorting stash all week.

This LO is by Ang who puts together kits for Bramford crop. The photo is of Vikki on her 11th birthday at Disney in Florida. Not a good quality photo but I've been wanting to use it for ages and sometimes I think it's more important to record the memory than worry about the quality of the photo.

This LO is from yesterday's crop designed by Karen who works for Vanessa. On the Friday before crop Vanessa now displays the planned layout on facebook so we can see what kind of photo is needed. Usually I take the kit home for another time but as I knew what photo to use and hadn't really finished faffing around with my own page I made it there and then. Photo is of Vikki and Matthew and uses pp from 3 bugs in a rug.

Harvey was 4 last week and so I made a chocolate birthday cake for him. Even Marc said how good it was having scoffed two pieces.

Alfie's gunky head is much better, Jim seems a little tired over the last few days so watching him closely and hoping it's nothing to worry about. He is post op 18 weeks tomorrow and will be 10 on the 2nd March.

Scrapping

So today what with it being Friday Dawn and I had a scrap LOL. We both did this LO from January Paperaze crop kit. Vanessa really does come up with some super idea's.

Papers are actually the reverse of Farm Fresh journaling cards from October Afternoon and the photo is of Alfie Bear watching the hens in the garden.

1 stamp 3 looks

I decided to have a little play and finally got round to using this stamp I bought last year.

On the first one I Stamped it in black then whilst the ink was still wet brushed over cosmic micra pigments then inked the whole think with a versamark pad and embossed with cosmic shimmer clear power.

Next I coloured the background with TH distress ink pads then stamped over it in black added some glitter highlight and then put a thin coat of glossy accents over it.

Third attempt and I stamped with stazon then used TH alchol inks on the back, so feeling very pleased with myself I showed it to Mr T who said so what will you do with them, ha that burst my bubble as I've no idea LOL but I had fun.

Alfie Bear is now on very strong ab's and if the gunk doesn't stop oozing this week he will have to have his head opened up. His vet is worried that a piece of bone may have broken off where is skull was fractured and his body is trying to expel it.

I can feel a major craft tidy up brewing, so many bits and bobs, so much mess and so little space.

Life has finally started to settle down here. Lucky has recovered from her tooth extraction, Jim is post op 16 weeks today and still well and happy, Gangley remains in deepest hibernation but poor Alfie still has gunk leaking out of his head so it back off to See Mr Vet tonight.

Work continues at a snails pace on the conservatory but I have been asked to think about paint colour so a glimmer of hope there LOL.

Went to Bramford crop Saturday and had such a lovely day. The girls are a real friendly bunch and unlike last month when it was so cold even the loo froze this time we had all layered up and spent the day gradually taking off layers as it was quite warm.

Finished this off which I had started on Friday when scrapping with Dawn. The layout is based on one we had from Vanessa in a class kit a few months ago and the photo is of Ben and Harvey. Harvey is Marc's girlfriends little boy and has popped in and out of our lives since he was 19 months but I think this time they are both here to stay. Harvey will be 4 on Saturday and him an Ben get on really well.

I'm off to a workshop at papermaze on Saturday, Carol is running it and I love the work Carol does so hopefully I'll come home with a lovely altered canvass.
