Using the papers left over from the layout I did on Saturday I've made this canvass for my friend Bim. Her beautiful greyhound passed away recently and is buried in our garden because she totally adored Eric and this was her favourite place to be. Hope she likes it. I used the flowers I made and then didn't put on the layout as they would have been to bulky.
Ruby was back at the vets last night and has gone from 26.4k last week to 27.1 this week yay! the vet said she was vastly improved but still a long way to go. He's hoping that's it's a deep routed bronchial infection and not something more sinister! today she is the brightest I have seen her in weeks! Paws crossed pleaseeeeeeeeeeeee

Oh dear!
What a bad blogger I am, sometimes life just gets in the way LOL....
I've been busy doing loads of stuff for the charity coast to coast walk, sponsorship forms are doing very well as is the response to 150 plus letters I sent out to local companies. Lots of lovely prizes have been donated for the raffle which will be held on the quiz night. I have been asked to do a blog so people can keep up to date as it unfolds, the boys had a nice piece in the local paper last week with a follow up interview planned! so watch this space (well it's on my to do list).
Lucky has started medication for Cushings, all very scary and needs very careful monitoring but after several weeks of being very flat she has perked up a bit this week.
Mr T continues to improve but still tires quickly and has more hospital appts than me, now that's saying something LOl. I'm still in plaster and off to the hospital next Tuesday so fingers crossed.
I wanted to make the lovely lady who brought her greyhounds over for the photo shoot a little thank you present, so going back to Carol's class I made this frame. A lot more basic than I would have liked but one handed and all that LOL...

Bits and Bobs
One is well and truly fed up with the snow now BUT not being able to g out has meant I've managed to get some things done LOL.
Back in July I attended one of Carol's classes at Papermaze and made this gorgeous altered art frame. So I decided to make another but making it into a photo frame this time, used all the techniques Carol taught me and came up with this. The butterflies were stamped onto grungeboard and coloured with DI's, the flower I stamped 3 times coloured with DI's then fiddled and faffed until it looked like a flower LOL.
I love using Tando products as they are so sturdy and take a lot of abuse from me changing my mind etc... Carol also kindly gave me this canvass project to do, I couldn't go to the class so had to improvise a bit, I am really pleased with how it turned out. The Merry Christmas is again from Tando as are the snowflakes.
And I finished the covers to the mini album again using techniques taught by Carol, that girl is so talented....
Had to get up at 5.30am today to get to the hospital for 8.30am, roads weren't as bad as expected and the consultant said he had not only removed a huge sack of fluid, protein and leaked silicon but had also taken away some more bone from my wrist which was hindering the tendons, so that explains why my hand is feeling good, the not so good news was the fluid is already coming back BUT we've decided to leave it and see how it goes as the next step is fussing the wrist and I would like to put that off for as long as possible.
Hounds are loving the snow, even Jim who struggles with icy stuff but loves the soft snow.
Not bad for an old fella with 3 legs...
Phew that was a long post..............

It's started!
OMG can't believe it but I've made a start on Christmas presents !!!!
A friend of ours became a first time Grandma recently, so I've made her a canvass with a photo of the baby, so that's 1 down and heaps of other prezzies to make LOL.
Came across this last week, it's called faux dichroic glass technique and was totally blown away by it, so despite not having the right paint I had a go any way. Totally rubbish photo's and no where near as lovely as Julie's (and how kind she shared her new found technique) but boy are they so totally gorgeous IRL. I've done 8 different pieces but blogger isn't playing nicely tonight so here's two for now.
Even Mr T said wow how did you make them. High praise !!
Jim had an iffy day Tuesday but seems okay now, of course mega worrying took hold but I guess he's entitled to the same ordinary ailments as the other hounds but of course we put 2 and 2 together and come up with 5 d'oh !!!!
Mr T has just installed my new PC he has built me (early Christmas present) I want to play around with digi stuff but my old PC just couldn't cope and I fear regular crafting may go out the window if the surgeon decides I need yet another op on my hand when I go up Tuesday, so at least with digi I can still kind of play if the worst happens.
Scrapping with Dawn tomorrow and nothing prepared for that or Bramford crop on Saturday, had better get a shift on LOL...

Cards
I've needed to make quite a few cards this week, so grabbed my bag of scraps leftover over from layouts and got stuck in as they say LOL.
This one hasn't photographed well but is really pretty IRL and very girlie.
This is my favourite one of the 6 I've made, just love the colour combo.
I've been a bit down in the dumps this week but have to say this raised more than a smile
1 because I soo needed it to take better photographs of my little pieces and 2 because Eric had noticed them on the blogs I'm always saying "come over here and see this" and he went off and found one and bought it for me. Just goes to prove you don't need to spend a fortune to cheer someone up.
Have to share this photo of Mojo Eric took, very arty and has to be scrapped.

Happy Birthday Vikki
today my daughter is 30 !!!! Happy birthday sweetheart xxx
So at tea time all the family will gather here to celebrate Vikki turning 30 LOL. I've been busy baking but made hard work of everything, just one of those days when it doesn't flow LOL.
Decided to take a break and finish this wall hanging for the porch, I've been faffing with it for days and couldn't get it right, last night Eric wandered over to my side of the study and said what about putting it off centre and it suddenly fell into place. Beginners luck !!!

Quite a good visit to the vets last night, Tom is perplexed by the lump on Jim's pad and scrapped the top off (Jim was very brave) and thought maybe he should be sedated for further investigation. Eric however suggested he gently files the top off the lump and see if that helps with the option of sedation and investigation if it doesn't. Well he had ago last night and Jim promptly jumped up and went outside and played with his football. Fingers or paws crossed this may be the solution. Tom gave Jim a complete check up and is astounded that post op (now approaching 8 months) that Jim is in excellent health with no signs of anything sinister lurking. he said he personally hasn't seen a dog with Jim's aggressive bone cancer survive this long. WTG Jim buba xxx
Okay back to the kitchen for me.

SCD Challenge
So having been the lucky winner with my name being pulled out of the hat over at SCD last week, I thought I had better do another LOL. Didn't want it to look like hey thanks for my prize don't have time to play this week (which I seriously don't) so anyway this week the challenge is PARIS and here's my twinchie

I've used a piece of my prize from Tando Creative Ltd, then coloured it with distress inks, stamped a background text stamp and some foliage and the Paris stamp mark. Finally I printed the Eiffel tower coloured it with a silver pen and then dragged black ink over it. Quite by accident it ended up looking metallic. All very amateurish by comparison to the girls on SCD but you don't improve if you don't try do you.
Jim is off to the vets tomorrow as he paw that had the corn removed is still bothersome but other than that he's in good spirits and seems well.
Busy week here, Wednesday Vikki (DD) will be 30th so we're having a birthday bash for her and Sunday Marc (DS) is having his engagement do, so guess someone is going to be busy in the kitchen LOL. Oh and lets not forgot Thursday! Thursday I'm back to the dentist to get my tooth fixed which by the way now aches. So looking forward to that NOT!
Does everyone else lead such a hectic life !!!! roll on my weekend away with Dawn only two more weeks yay !!!

Happy Birthday SCD
Over at SCD they are celebrating their first birthday. It's a super blog run by my very talented friend Carol and finally I've found time to take part in their weekly challenge.
Here is my twinchie on the chosen flower theme.

The background paper started off white (Carol take note) then I scrunched it up and swirled it in distressed inks that I'd sprayed. When it was dry I then ironed it (that was a shock doing the ironing), finally I've stamped a quote onto it with some background flowers and added a flower which has been sprayed with glimmer mist and voila.....okay so it's not great but I took part and that's what counts.
Here is my layout from crop on Saturday. I love this photo Eric got of Jim last month, he spotted something in the distance and suddenley pulled himself up tall and strong. Seeing it rolled back the years to when he was younger and healthy.

Papers are from Bo Bunny "a gift of love" and the title is painted chipboard and then painted again with distress paint.

Sewing and stuff
Yes I know this comes as a shock to anyone who knows me but I dusted off the sewing machine. Now me and the sewing machine don't get on at all and true to form not only did the bobbin jam but the needle also broke !!!!! I did not give up although I was seriously tempted to ring my Mum who is an expert with the sewing machine but instead GRITTED MY TEETH AND PUSHED THROUGH THE TEARS AND TANTRUMS.
Aaah I hear you ask what master piece was I creating, well just a small table cloth (made from a £2.99 single sheet) and some little frills for the kitchen windows (all 3) because Eric painted the kitchen and my lovely roman blinds then clashed. Why did Eric paint the kitchen..... because it was yellow and the new porch and conservatory are green and as an Ipswich born and bred girl there is no way I could have them colours together (Norwich city FC for those who don't get it).
So here is my window frill (bad photo due to poor light).

and my little table cloth, mines the green one, Mum made the red checked bit.

So now you can see the other end of the conservatory and did you notice these

I have been playing/making them for weeks having seen them in various forms on various blogs. I think they're probably inspired by Tim Holtz LOL. So the vase started off life as a baked bean tin and I made some paper to match the coasters and hey presto I finally finished them.
There's nothing like a visit from a friend (my cyber buddy Shellie is coming with her hubby for 5 days on Monday) to make you focus on all those little jobs you've been meaning to do LOL...
PS Jim is still very well and happy.

1 stamp 3 looks
I decided to have a little play and finally got round to using this stamp I bought last year.
On the first one I Stamped it in black then whilst the ink was still wet brushed over cosmic micra pigments then inked the whole think with a versamark pad and embossed with cosmic shimmer clear power.

Next I coloured the background with TH distress ink pads then stamped over it in black added some glitter highlight and then put a thin coat of glossy accents over it.

Third attempt and I stamped with stazon then used TH alchol inks on the back, so feeling very pleased with myself I showed it to Mr T who said so what will you do with them, ha that burst my bubble as I've no idea LOL but I had fun.

Alfie Bear is now on very strong ab's and if the gunk doesn't stop oozing this week he will have to have his head opened up. His vet is worried that a piece of bone may have broken off where is skull was fractured and his body is trying to expel it.
I can feel a major craft tidy up brewing, so many bits and bobs, so much mess and so little space.
