Carol's frame class

So as promised here is my wonderful altered art frame that I made yesterday. Can you tell am happy I am with it!

The class was designed and taught by Carol and used many of the techniques we have been learning in previous classes.

The frame and stand started off as bare chipboard and everything else other than the spinner and metal flower we made. Unusually the class was very quiet because we were all determined to start and finish the frame in one go. I had a little help from Carol sticking the final bits down at the end as my hands and brain were shot to pieces

I think all of us who attended would agree that Carol is very talented, has fantastic idea's and is a great teacher and is very patient LOL.

I think the little saying "ART DOESN'T HAVE TO BE PERFECT" is a good reminder for those of us who strive for perfection, rarely achieve it and then beat ourselves up over it LOL.

So I came home a very very happy bunny but extremely tired and had to be ready to go out 90 mins later.

The hen do was fun, loud and my first time seeing a stripper, although Vikki did insist I didn't watch some bits of it LOL...

Busy week, off to rehearsals Tuesday evening and Marc's birthday Thursday and the big day Friday....Vikki is off to America a week tomorrow for 2 weeks so want to cram in some time with her and Ben in between all the wedding stuff, so on that note I'll see you all on the other side LOL...

SCD

This week the challenge at SCD is still tags but with circles as the theme.

The background of my tag has been made by swiping DI antique linen onto it as a medium to get the Cosmic shimmer mica pigments to stick to it, then spritzed with water to set them. Then I've run it through the cuttlebug using a circle embossing folder. Chipboard flower has been painted, stamped and glossy accents and on top circles punched out and cut to give a fringe effect and finished off with some flowers that come on wires stems which I've cut off. I them coloured in some of the circles with a white pen to highlight, which in hindsight wasn't a good idea LOL.....

Love taking part in these challenges as they make you think and DO !!!

Off to Carol's frame class at Papermaze now, really looking forward to it.

One other bit of news, Jim has asked to go out for 2 walks in the last few days, he's not been keen ever since the corn and even in the car he has to be persuaded to go, so the fact that he asked to go was fantastic! of course he didn't go far but at least he went. Other hounds are all well and happy.

Sandy's mini album

One is feeling ever so slightly shattered !!! and for once has put her sensible head on and cancelled scrapping with Dawn to have a QUIET DAY.

Tomorrow I'm doing Carol's frame workshop at papermaze and in the evening going to Hollie's hen do and what with the lead up to the wedding a week today I need to start being sensible and REST LOL...

Not great photo's as per usual but here is the mini album I made of Sandy for Marc's birthday. Sandy and Marc adored each other and like us he was totally devastated when she passed away from the bone cancer in November. I have included lots of hidden flaps and tags which are just for arc and also included lots of information that I was able to find out via her ear tattoo's. Eric said I COULDN'T HAVE COME UP WITH A BETTER PRESENT IF i'D SPENT HUNDREDS IF POUNDS SO GUESS THAT WAS A COMPLIMENTS lol...

Table plan

So after a couple of stressful days the table plan is finished! and shock horror I am pleased with the end result.

Not the best of photo's but the light is awful today. The base is pearlised cream and the corners have been stamped and embossed, I welded the names on robo and painted with a pearlised paint and then matted and layered the tables. The names on the tables are all places Rachael and Marc visited on their holiday to Kenya in February with the top table being the place Marc proposed ahhh !!

See how he light keeps changing today, another rubbish photo but you get the gist LOL.

Rachael has just collected it and loved it phew !!!! and it is all millimetre straight IRL LOL...

SCD Challenge

This week the challenge over at SCD is still tags but the theme is Fantasy !!!!! as soon as I read it this image popped into my head and I had to run with it, even if I should be designing and making the table plan for the wedding. Rachael DIL to be asked me yesterday, well I nearly fainted with shock (only because it's a bit short notice for me) having spent weeks laughing at Dawn because she's doing it for Hollie, that will teach me as I have under a week to design and do and we all know how slow I am LOL. I have however finish the mini album I've been making for the last 2 weeks LOL.

Anyway back to the tag, background is DI inks and random stamping, then I've downloaded some red killer heel shoes (and anyone who knows me understands why I wish I could wear them) and then the body of a barbie doll and a photo of my face at 18 *sigh* and voila. I love it !!!

Went to Papermaze crop yesterday and had a wonderful day, did the kit from last month as a present for Vikki's MIL as her daughter and family who have been here for the last two weeks went home to America today. I can imagine just how sad she will be feeling so thought it might make her smile to the lovely photo's displayed.

So back to the table plan, I've rushed out to the Range this morning and come home armed with a bag of all things purple, lilac and cream, so I had better get doing LOL.

Dogs have all had baths today and look and smell yummy!!!! MR T went out on his motorbike 3 hours ago to B&Q and is as yet to return, me thinks he's off having a ride. Guess I had better feed myself !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Phew !!!

Finally a break in the heatwave and today it has rained all day with temperatures dropping to a much bearable level. Now that wasn't really a moan was it, more an observation LOL.

Scrapped on Friday as usual but as I'm working on a birthday project can't share yet.

Saturday had a lovely day at Bramford crop and despite having several of my own Lo's prepared and I loved the kit Ang had done for us so much I did it there and then. Dreadful photo not sure what went wrong and as it's already up on the wall in one of my fabby frames Eric made I can't be doing with getting it down.

Apologies to Ang for my adding own touches which in all honesty did nothing for the layout, live and learn. If only !!

Next up is my tag for the challenge on SCD. This week it's tags again with the theme of "are you sitting comfortable". The background has been done with DI and stamped, then 2 owls stamped and coloured in and stuck on. Finally the whole thing had a watered down coating of perfect pearls washed over it to make it shimmer.

Hounds are all well, she says touching wood LOL.

SCD Challenge

Over at SCD this week the challenge is tags with the theme being hearts.

So here is my tag

The background has been done using DI inks faded blue jeans and milled lavender, then stamped and finally some hearts added which were made with AI's onto acetate. A little heart and ribbon to finish off.

It's been a difficult weekend in our house. After weeks of gentle persuasion Eric finally decided Jim and I were well enough to be left and he went on a little break with the boys up to Utoexter to a big bike show/boot sale. They camped on the site next to it and had a great weekend.

All was going well here, until Saturday night just as I was putting dogs out for final wee's, when disaster struck. Jim got stung in the mouth by a bee and suffered a terrible reaction. His tongue swelled and he was literally choking to death. Fortunately as part of the agreement of Eric going away I have my mobile in a pouch around my neck at all times and was able to call Dawn's daughter (vet nurse) her partner answer (he's a vet) and got the emergency on call vet out to me within 5 minutes. It was a long 5 minutes with Jim tearing at his face and chocking. The vet gave him an injection and within a few minutes he was able to breathe, so there followed a very disturbed night but Jim is now fully recovered and I am knackered LOL.

Sadly Mum and Dad's dear little dog Benji passed away on Saturday. Benji was my Rulu's brother and was an absolute darling of a dog. He lived the life of a king and was adored by everyone. He will be so missed by everyone but especially Mum and Dad. Sleeptight little man xxxxx
