SCD

Over at SCD we're still on torso's and the theme this week chosen by Carol is "of the sea". Do check out the DT pieces they are gorgeous!.

So as I have nothing remotely of the sea I decided to go digital LOL. The whole thing has been created on the PC, then I've printed out some of the layers again and decoupaged them .The anchor was also coated in glossy accents, finished off with Inka gold, some glitter and white hughlights, and the little birds I drew in LOL.

We are also invited to take part in a swop, so I shall post my pieces off to Carol and see what I get back.

Scrapping

Had a good day scrapping with Dawn yesterday, thought it was about time I scrapped Marc and Rachael's engagement photo as I've already started on the wedding ones.

think the papers were from making memories but were all left over scraps so I could be wrong.

Been feeling a bit poorly this week, usual aches and pains blah blah blah

so when Eric came home with these this morning they really cheered me up.

Dogs are all well and happy.

Crop

I had a super day at papermaze crop and was quite productive for me LOL.

This layout was made from some leftover scraps and the photo is of Vikki, Mathew and Ben in New York. I now have all their holiday photo's on my PC, so lots of potential there.

This layout was the class kit last month and the photo is of Marc, Rachael, Ben and Harvey and is my favourite photo of the whole wedding, made a few little changes as I wanted to use 1 big photo..

I made the title on the craft robo and for once it did just what I wanted, like the sewing machine we have a difficult relationship LOl...

Have so many projects on the go I don't know whether I'm coming or going.

Dogs are all well and Jim is still demanding two walks a day, even tried requesting a third over the weekend but got told very politely No chance, don't want to push it too far.

SCD

Still on Torso's over at SCD and the theme this week is "red and black"

I've inked the background with DI red brick, then stamped the butterfly stamp (from crafty individuals) in black, then coated with Distress stickles rock candy, then stamped image again on a separate piece of paper and embossed it, coloured it in with red glaze and mounted onto torso. Also added some black gems. It has a real tarty feel to it LOL...

Off to Papermaze crop now woohoo ...

Cards

I've needed to make quite a few cards this week, so grabbed my bag of scraps leftover over from layouts and got stuck in as they say LOL.

This one hasn't photographed well but is really pretty IRL and very girlie.

This is my favourite one of the 6 I've made, just love the colour combo.

I've been a bit down in the dumps this week but have to say this raised more than a smile

1 because I soo needed it to take better photographs of my little pieces and 2 because Eric had noticed them on the blogs I'm always saying "come over here and see this" and he went off and found one and bought it for me. Just goes to prove you don't need to spend a fortune to cheer someone up.

Have to share this photo of Mojo Eric took, very arty and has to be scrapped.

SCD

Over at SCD this week it's still torso's and the theme is memories. Well I knew exactly what I wanted to do, a collage of all my rainbow bridge babies but then Saturday evening I received some news that fair broke my heart and I just couldn't face raking up memories that I knew would add to my sadness.

So I just went for a stamped image that conjured up a bygone era to me. I used DI inks to create the background and then did a bit of stamping. Then stamped the image again onto copy paper cut out the two figures and coated in sepia accents and mounted it onto the torso.

On a happier note this week sees Jim aga the hug monster reach his first year anniversary after being diagnosed with Osteosarcoma. As many of you know we had 3 of our beautiful hounds all diagnosed with the same dreaded illness in the space of a few months. Sadly Sandy and Ranger didn't live for long BUT here is Jim still healthy and happy and completely confounding his vets. Statistics show that a 3 month survival rate is good and 6 months is excellent after amputating. Guess know one told the big fella LOL.

.Here is the original post for those interested. Three wheels on his wagon and he's still rolling along..

Rachael and her Mum loved the maze books and exp boxes and the official photo's are gorgeous but oh so expensive. Shall have to choose wisely.

Exploding boxes

I found this variation of exploding boxes and thought it was a good way to display some of the wedding photo's. So I made two LOL one for Rachael and one for her Mum. They're coming over tomorrow so we can view the official photographs, so I'll give them to Rachael and her Mum then. Hope they like them. Think I'm all wedding and purpled out for a while now LOl.

I made the papers for the outside of the boxes and they can be folded either way so to show the swirls or the one made by spraying paper and scrunching up clingfilm on it. The flowers were made from spraying tissue paper and then cutting out loads of flowers.

The versatile blogger award

I've been passed a blog award .....

The rules are I have to thank the person who gave it to me, tell you 7 things about myself and pass the award on to 5 other bloggers.

So a big THANK YOU to Winnie at Winnitude

Now for the 7 things about myself:

1. I hate potatoes, seriously I hate anything that has potato in it, including crisps and chips BUT now for the daft bit I like packet smash LOL.

2. I am scared of trees especially fruit trees BUT love the huge Weeping willow tree in my garden.

3. I am addicted to maltesers, in my opinion a girls best friend.

4. My hair started turning grey when I was 26 years old and has been adjusted ever since.

5. My son was named Marc after Marc Bolan.

6. I have many foods allergies that aggravate the RA the worst being strawberries (which I love) 1 single strawberry has been known to have me in agony and bed bound for 3 days, so not fair !!!!!!

So now I pass this award onto these five lovely ladies:

SCD challenge

So a new month brings a new challenge over at SCD and for August it's ATC sized TORSO'S and the theme is a bit of bling. Well I have to confess my brain went a bit d'oh and wasn't helped by a certain person at crop saying Daniel Craig's torso was all that sprang into her mind LOL.

Anyway I finally came up with this. The background was made by inking up the card with perfect medium and swirling various mica pigments over it, then a little bit of stamping again highlighted with mica pigments and finally some flowers printed onto acetate and coloured in with different pens and to finish a bit of bling. It is very bling bling in real life LOL.

Really looking forward to seeing what everyone else comes up with.

Had a good day at crop yesterday and actually did the other two maze books and found some lovely raffia flowers to add to the front.

Maze Book

I thought it might be nice to make Rachael and her Mum a little maze book with some photo's of the wedding. Now knowing how I always make a hash of things I decided to make myself one first and learn by any mistakes, LOL, well I learnt a few things, like stick your photo's on before adding the covers and leave a slightly bigger gap for the covers so it opens out easier but overall I am quite chuffed with it and if anyone should ask if  have any photo's of the wedding I can whip this out of my bag LOL.

I made the front and back cover the same but may add Rachael and Marc's initials to the front later. First up I paint several layers of deep purple paint onto the grey card you get in the back of paper packs, then stamped and embossed with clear powder and finally dry brushed silver paint over that. A technique Carol taught us at one of her classes.

and some shocking bad photo's of the inside.

For those who aren't familiar with maze books they are made from 1 piece of 12 x 12 paper or card and folded and cut to create the pages.

Off to crop tomorrow and shall be making the next 2 LOl.

Dogs are all well and in in fact dear old Jim is now going on 2 yup that's right 2 short walks a day. WTG JIM xx

SCD Challenge

Finally I get to play again LOL!

Over at SCD this week it's again tags and the theme is to use the colours, orange, brown and blue. Had me stumped for a while but finally came up with this.

I've used DI's to create the backgrounds, Walnut stain, broken china, spiced marmalade and faded jeans. over stamped using some TH stamps then added a saying and a silhouette of a greyhound. Didn't turn out as I had planned because for some reason I struggled with these colours, guess that's the whole point of a challenge. LOL.

Vikki, Mathew and Ben after 23 hours of travelling have finally arrived in Cleveland, they had a four hour stop over in Toronto, I expect being 5 hours behind us they are sleeping.

The perfect day

On Friday 30th July our son Marc married Rachael. We couldn't have asked for a better day, the venue was so beautiful and as the weather stayed dry they were married outside in the dove cote. The whole day just had such a lovely relaxed feel to it and everyone seemed to really enjoy themselves.
