Last prezzie made

Finally managed to finish the last Christmas prezzie phew!!!! another Tando frame, very similar to the last one which was supposed to be for DIL but I liked it so much I kept it oops LOl so have made another and DIl will get this one. Not as decorated as the first as my hands are useless but still very pleased with it.

I've painted it with dark purple, then stamped and embossed and then painted again with a mixture of silver and pearl white and then rubbed it off. The two corners have viva ferro added and then I stamped it to that and to finish a flower which I coloured with DI inks.

Have also made some quick digi cards as I have several birthdays in the family in January. I've used Dawn Inkskips free kit called Joy.

Presents are wrapped, cards delivered just the decorations to be done tomorrow hopefully.....

SCD challenge and other stuff

The challenge this week is again tags with a theme of Christmas characters. Not sure my snowman really counts but seemed topical after all the snow.

Digi again this week as I have totally seized up and can barely move not LOL...

So due to being poorly I missed the Christmas crop but I hear my malteser cake was well received LOl and Dawn came back with this gorgeous birthday present for me  from Carol, a little pizza box she had made, decorated and filled with so many lovely crafty bits. I adore it.

Last Thursday was my birthday and my cousin Sandra made me this beautiful little wall hanging, it's in the dining room for now but if and when I ever get a craft room it will go in there for sure.

lucky went for more test yesterday, protein levels in urine are still way to high as is her blood pressure, so more pills and more tests lined up, having said that she seems much brighter and happier this week. Which is more than can be said for me, missing Grandsons first Nativity play and Christmas crop has not been good...

Tando 3d tree

Thank you to everyone who sent birthday wishes yesterday, most of my visitors came the day before so I had a lovely day playing and getting messy, perfect way to spend your birthday LOL.

Made this or rather I decorated it LOl, love Tando stuff it is so sturdy and takes much abuse from me. I've sprayed it with glimmer mist, then painted gold on the edges and glittered the star, added gems and ribbons to finish.

A few photo's of my visitors and dogs of course LOL...

Vikki with Lucky and Jim

Mum with Gangley and Alfie

Dad and Mojo

and Marc, Harvey and Alfie and Lucky.

SCD challenge

This month the challenge is tags and the theme this week is trees.

Due to various reasons which I shan't bore you with, all I could do was digi. Not the same as getting messy with stamps and inks, hey ho such is life....

Bits and Bobs

One is well and truly fed up with the snow now BUT not being able to g out has meant I've managed to get some things done LOL.

Back in July I attended one of Carol's classes at Papermaze and made this gorgeous altered art frame.  So I decided to make another but making it into a photo frame this time, used all the techniques Carol taught me and came up with this. The butterflies were stamped onto grungeboard and coloured with DI's, the flower I stamped 3 times coloured with DI's then fiddled and faffed until it looked like a flower LOL.

I love using Tando products as they are so sturdy and take a lot of abuse from me changing my mind etc... Carol also kindly gave me this canvass project to do, I couldn't go to the class so had to improvise a bit, I am really pleased with how it turned out. The Merry Christmas is again from Tando as are the snowflakes.

And I finished the covers to the mini album again using techniques taught by Carol, that girl is so talented....

Had to get up at 5.30am today to get to the hospital for 8.30am, roads weren't as bad as expected and the consultant said he had not only removed a huge sack of fluid, protein and leaked silicon but had also taken away some more bone from my wrist which was hindering the tendons, so that explains why my hand is feeling good, the not so good news was the fluid is already coming back BUT we've decided to leave it and see how it goes as the next step is fussing the wrist and I would like to put that off for as long as possible.

Hounds are loving the snow, even Jim who struggles with icy stuff but loves the soft snow.

Not bad for an old fella with 3 legs...

Phew that was a long post..............

SCD challenge and other stuff

This week over at SCD the challenge is to make anything with the theme of SNOW, which is rather apt as we have at least 2 inches and it's still snowing as I sit here.

I've made a 3d decoupage Christmas card, all hand cut and then the snow area's have ice stickles on them but sadly it won't surprise you to read my photographic skills haven't captured that LOl.

yesterday I had a super day out at The Big Event

made this gorgeous box which was designed and taught by Karen who used to work at Papermaze and I still have loads of kit left to do 2 other classes. I also was the lucky winner of some yummy cupcakes, kindly donated by these lovely people.

And my Aunty Peb gave this gorgeous miniature bear for being a brave girl with my hand LOL. Peb's bear's are famous worldwide and I am lucky enough to have several now. The work on these little bears has to be seen to be believed.

Finally my layout from last months Papermaze crop. Photo is Vikki blowing out the candles on her 30th birthday cake.

Sandy 1 year on ......

Tomorrow is the 1st anniversary of Sandy's passing away.

Not one single day goes by without us missing her and remembering what a cheeky little girl she was and  we remember how brave she was in her fight against the bone cancer and how her zest for life kept her going through some very difficult times.

Sandy was the most special little lady and we miss her terribly.

Sandy's story is here.

MORE DIGI

IT'S SNOWING HERE Brrrrrrrr

So I have cracked on with the mini album and finished the last few pages. Printed it all out and mounted onto card, so it's now ready for the covers to be made.

Lucky has been back to the vets again this week for more tests and we're awaiting the results. Some days she looks fine and other days she looks tired and old. Hope the vet can get to the bottom of it soon so we can start treatment.

Paper scrapping

This is my layout from Bramford crop, designed by Janina. So simple but beautiful.

Photo is Vikki, Mathew and Ben at Marc and Rachael's wedding in July.

Poor old Lucky is off to the vets again this afternoon for a ACTH stimulation test to try and diagnose whether she does have Cushings. The vet will take blood then give her some stuff then an hour later take another blood sample.

So for the first time in at least 4 years I'm now going shopping in Ipswich with Vikki, need some jeans and shoes arrgh !!! hate shopping, well except craft stash LOL

SCD challenge

Over at SCD this week it's still any thing goes and the theme of numbers for this week has been chosen by Carol.  Many thanks Carol I need a kick to get Ben's birthday card done.

Background paper was made digi but the rest is real LOL...

Terrible photo to be sure but one is ever so slightly cream crackered! Ben had a sleepover here last night, he was very good but the airbed squeaked each time he moved and Alfie had to investigate it each time. Gangley slept with Ben all night which was lovely.

By 8.15am this morning, he had walked the dogs with Eric and made Postman Pat cakes with me........Is it time for bed zzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

1 year on

Today is the 1st anniversary of Ranger's passing!

Feeling very sad today. This time last year we were having the most terrible time, with 3 of our lovely dogs suffering from bone cancer. It still breaks my heart that dear Ranger only had 364 days with us.

We miss him so much, sleep tight little man xxx

Ranger's  story is here. Tissues needed.

Paper scrapping

A very basic paper layout, my first since the hand op and I rather like it LOL.

Photo's are of Ben in his uniform ready for his first day at school.

Lucky and Mojo are off the the vets later and I'm hoping they will be get a clean bill of health.

Sadly we had to bury another one of our ex battery hens yesterday. She had been looking quite old and frail for several days so we were expecting it but I still sad about it. I'm so glad we decided to rescue the ex battery hens and have been able to give them 18 months of life as proper free ranging girlies. So only two left and they are no longer laying. I think we shall get some more, maybe in the spring.

Got 5 more Christmas cards to make today then that's another job done and dusted LOL.

SCD weekly challenge

Over at SCD they are continuing the anything goes challenge - and this weeks theme is Wings.

I had intended to do some proper crafting but blasted hand hurts like hell today, probably too much crafting Friday and Saturday so had to resort to digi again, which I do feel is a bit cheating but in all honesty takes just as long LOL.

So here is a card with fairies and their wings LOL.

Just to prove it's not all digi I made these key rings last week. Had another bash at the faux diotric, which is painting the chipboard with croco paint, then adding AI and then tripple embossing with UTEE.

I also have a layout almost finished from crop yesterday just needs a little something, not sure what yet and it's a proper paper LO LOL...

More digi

Where on earth does the week go, one minute it's Monday and then it's Friday. I never seem to get as much done as I think I will LOL.

Done a bit more on the mini album which is going to be all digi

and made a few presents but better keep them under wraps LOL.

Hounds are all well (touches wood) and my hand is sooo much better! not sure how it will stand up to crop tomorrow but as I've done no paper scrapping for at lest 6 weeks I am keento give it ago if I could only make a decision on photo and papers LOL. Guess if you have too long a break you lose the momentum.

Over at SCD this week the theme is wings so going to have a think about that.

SCD weekly challenge

This month over at SCD we can make anything we like again, but this time we've  been given a subject to play with.  This weeks theme is Houses chosen by  Laura.

Well I had several idea's but in the end went digi as my hand is really sore, I think I may have over used it and am now paying the price BUT it is doing really well and all but a small area has healed and the stitches dissolved. Better behave this week as I'm going to crop on Saturday and need it to work LOL.

I do have a couple of other houses I've made in the past to show you as well.

First a little Christmas house made a few years back

and this little bird house I made for a friend who loves her bird boxes and was recovering from a serious op in hospital and wasn't allowed flowers.

Lucky got her knickers in a right twist over the fireworks lat night, despite having given her rescue remedy, the other 4 were much better than expected, just hope it won't be as bad tonight.

He slept!

Mojo slept last night and we slept LOL so today life seems a bit better! The little chap is off to the vets later to get his bandage changed etc and hopefully the no walks restrictions will be lifted pleaseeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee.

No scrapping with Dawn today, she's dumped me! but I have a few digi layouts to share. I'm sure I'll look back at these in a few months and think OMG they're awful but for now whilst I'm learning I am happy with them.

Off to put my thinking cap on for this weeks  challenge over at SCD.

Woe is Mojo

On Tuesday evening whilst out on the final walk of the day Mojo slipped off the pavement and stuck his leg down a drain! really deep slice through the leg so yesterday he was at the vets having a general anaesthetic to have the leg stitched etc.

Eric collected him at 6pm and the poor little man wasn't happy! and then he cried all night and I mean all night, so very little sleep for us. Even worse he's allowed no walks at all until further notice, so when the others went out this morning without him all hell let loose. Of course Eric and I look like zombies and Mojo is now curled up asleep!

Lucky is looking much better, so the antibiotics are obviously working and 3 nights without leaking now.

Alfie is still on steroids for his unknown allergy which shows no signs of going.

With so many of them on pills and potions I've had to write out a list of what who and when LOL and as for insurance claim forms and vet appointments my poor tired head is spinning.

Hand is much better and today I had a shower without a bag so now it looks and smells clean LOL...still a few stitches to dissolve and scabs to go but well on the way now.
